Reception

The game has nerveless quite mixed reviews, having score of 65 on the Metacritic website, and several negative reviews on Steam. The 3DS eShop has the game at a four star rating, with the game having been voted suitable for all types of gamers. Gamespot gave the game a 6 out of a possible 10, praising the personality of the game and the artistic and fun bosses.

Trivia

  • In the game, Finn says "Grabbing all the Rubles!". This could be a reference to the real-life Ruble, which is a currency in many countries.
  • The game reuses several graphical elements from Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW!.
  • Princess Bubblegum is voiced by Laura Bailey, who also voices Nightmare Princess in this game, instead of Hynden Walch.

Cultural references

  • The gameplay is very similar to that of The Fable of Zelda franchise, specifically the third game in the series, A Link to the Past.
